Dr. Patricee Douglas, Founder and Executive Director

Dr. Patricee DouglasPatricee Douglas fondly known as Dr.Pat is a headwrap enthusiast and an ardent advocate for women’s and girls’ health and rights. She is the founder of SRHR Adventures, a grassroots organisation that seeks to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights with a special focus on family planning/contraception in Guyana. Patricee would be described by those who know her well as outspoken, passionate and humble.
This statuesque young woman that stands at 5 ft 9 inches and lives by Rumi’s quote “I am not this hair, I am not this skin, I am the soul that lives within”. She enjoys the simple things in life and believes “those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” She is happiest when she is serving others, which fits perfectly with her favourite quote “Life’s Most Persistent and Urgent Question Is, “What Are You Doing for Others?” Martin Luther King JNR.

Faqueeda Latoya Watson-Jones, Coordinator of SRHR Adventures

Faqueeda Watson- JonesFaqueeda Watson- Jones, who is known by many as “Triple F: Friendly, Fantastic and Fabulous”, has never given up on her passion and for what she believes in because she lives by the motto: “Success is stumbling from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm”- Winston Churchill. As such, her life is full of testimonies which she is always eager to share when she sees someone is struggling. One of her greatest achievements is becoming a medical doctor. Currently, Faqueeda is the School Health Officer attached to the Ministry of Public Health, Adolescent Health Unit.
In addition, as an ardent advocate and a Women Deliver Young Leader, her passion lies in her work as a sexual reproductive health and rights advocate with a focus on women’s and girls’ health and rights and adolescent health and rights. Most of her work are executed through SRHR Adventures and she had the pleasure of planning and executing a few projects such as the Think Family Planning Campaign in collaboration with World Contraception Day Ambassadors and the first ever Infertility Symposium in Guyana. As a powerful public speaker, her voice always captures the attention of all and has done her great justice as a speaker/ guest speaker at several forums or activities including the PowHERful Women’s Leadership and Business Conference and the University of Guyana’s Journalism Class.

Yvonne Barrow, Member

Yvonne BarrowMs. Yvonne Barrow is a social development practitioner with a passion for gender equality and peace building, She began her journey in a Faith Based Organization but later transitioned into Civil Society Organizations focusing on masculinity and femininity.
As a maverick member of SRHR Adventures she speaks to empower and facilitate workshops to women and girls to take control of their sexual health and rights. Ms. Barrow has championed and designed projects for community engagement and prevention education programmes of SRHR Adventures since her membership in 2017. The Parushi Club ‘where girls blossom into kickass women’ and Endometriosis Campaign are signature projects she has led.
She is a recipient of the Commonwealth Peace Awards 2019, Outstanding Women Award 2018, Global Peace Ambassador 2018-2020 and an ardent advocate. These platforms are used to create diversion and educational programmes for women, girls and those at risk population.

Treadeci Lewis–Moore, Member

Treadeci Lewis MooreTreadeci Lewis-Moore is a person who believes that all things work together for the good and nothing happens before its time. She is a strong willed woman who can represent herself, loves to cook and has a passion for fashion.

Ophelia Yhan, Member

Ophelia YhanOphelia Yhan is a freethinking, strong willed individual that cares deeply about family and friends. She is a pharmacist by trade and at heart. She has always been fascinated by the health care system, with pharmacy being a unique field of study.
Ophelia completed her CSEC exams in the year 2008 followed by the completion of CAPE in the year 2010 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy in November, 2014 where she graduated with a credit. In late 2014, Ophelia started her career in a Community Pharmacy and has joined the distribution aspect of pharmacy in 2016 where she has gained knowledge in the areas of:

4. Occupational Safety and Health Administration

Sara Scott, Member

Sara ScottFor Sara, every setting is a consultation room. As a health professional, she sees her calling as a doctor taking her beyond the hospital walls. This aspiring Family Medicine specialist hopes to one day be an integral part of healthcare reform in Guyana, especially when it comes to provision of SRHR services and governing policies.
Sara Scott holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Guyana School of Medicine. While there, she was a long serving member of the Medical Student’s Association. She currently works as a Medical Officer at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. She was also a member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Guyana where she served on the Board of Directors from 2017-2018 and is currently a mentor within the Knowles Educational Charitable Trust for International Leadership (Kectil) Programme.

Christy Caleb, Member

Christy CalebChristy, is a budding doctor who is currently pursuing her studies in a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Georgetown American University and has a passion for sexual reproductive health and rights. When God is placed in all aspects of your life, all things are possible; this is the driving force for Christy as she seeks to be a better version of herself and to help others while creating a pathway for self care by reading her favourite books and relaxing.

Marlyn Rhius, Member

Marlyn RhiusMarlyn Rhius who resides in the village of Grove, is an open minded, enthusiastic, strong willed and determined young lady who loves cooking and crafting. She is a bit of a worrier due to her Obsessive Compulsive Behaviours but greatly values her friends and family. Her love for volunteerism stems from her fascination on how the act of kindness could have such a great impact on someone’s life.
Marlyn completed her secondary education in 2014 followed by CAPE which was completed in 2015. She is currently pursuing her Pharmacy degree at the University of Guyana.

Kean Dey, Member

Kean DeyKean Dey has been a member of SRHR Adventures since 2017 and as of 2019, started chairing the communications committee and is also a member of the governance committee.
Kean grew up in a house with lots of females which were mostly her cousins and one brother. Nothing regarding SRHR was ever discussed in her home, even when she had her first period, she was given a pack of sanitary pads and had to figure it out on her own.
Her passion for SRHR stems from her wanting to learn more for herself and also wanting to help women and girls who may have grown up in a home setting like hers.
Kean’s academic life however has not branched out into anything health wise. She moved from the county of Berbice to Georgetown to study for her BSc in International Relations in 2016 but she believes her passion lies a bit in Social Work which she’s hoping to pursue upon the completion of her degree in 2020.
Today, she remains committed to helping and educating women about their Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

Petal ArcherPetal Archer is a young and lively individual. She is a current student of the University of Guyana, where she is pursuing a degree in International Relations. Nevertheless she still finds time to do the things she is most passionate about which includes her family and volunteering. As a young person she hopes to make a difference in the lives of other females of all ages.

Olanna Alika Bacchus, Member

Olanna .A. BacchusOlanna .A. Bacchus, a God fearing, easy going, optimistic, adventurous, ambitious, African beauty is a Biologist, Fisheries Officer, Cake Decorator, Pastry maker, Make-up Artist, volunteer and many more. She has a passion for the work executed by SRHR Adventures, food, dancing, and spending quality time with friends and family. She holds positions in other groups of this kind but stands as a proud group member and member of the Personal Development Committee of SRHR-A. Her volunteer journey started some 8 years ago, and thus far, has been one worth sharing. A friend and Sister encouraged her to join SRHR-A and to date there is no regret. Volunteerism is probably the best choice and greatest joy apart from family, food, academics and serving the Lord. With this opportunity she hopes to fulfill the objectives of SRHR-A through awareness and other means possible while working on improving herself.

Onescia Esther Donelle Byass, Member

Onescia ByassOnescia Byass is a Health Safety Security & Customer Service Specialist at Massy Services Guyana Ltd. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and recently graduated from Massy Guyana graduate Trainee Program. Onescia continues to develop her professional career by enrolling at Kronoco Safety Solution to pursue the Supervisor Safety Development Program. Onescia Byass lives in Linden but currently resides in Georgetown.

Rhealyn Burke, Member

Rhealyn BurkeRhealyn Burke is a fourth year medical student. She considers herself as a well-rounded individual who maintains an excellent balance with her studies and community engagements. Very humble in nature, she is a proud leader and volunteer. At her university, she was chosen as a student ambassador and was elected Vice President and then President of the Students’ Government Association.
She enjoys public speaking and being a member of the Junior Chamber International (JCI); she was afforded the opportunity to take part in the JCI West Indies 58th National Convention Public Speaking Competition in 2018 which was held in Grenada where she became the JCI West Indies 58th National Convention Public Speaking Champion. Serving humanity is one of her greatest pleasures in life.
She was recently chosen as a mentor for the West African Foreign Mentorship Program which is an online based mentorship program for West African youths. She believes that everyone should always strive to better themselves and so she was successful in her application to be a part of the Knowles Educational and Charitable Trust for International Leadership (Kectil) Program which is a web-based leadership training program that identifies and nurtures highly talented youths from developing countries who has the potential to create positive change.

Tiffany Andrade, Member

Tiffany AndradeTiffany Andrade is a Quality Management Professional who holds a Diploma in Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Guyana. As of October 2018, Tiffany was a successful graduate of the Massy Guyana Graduate Training Program and specializes in ISO 9001 implementation, auditing, problem solving, risk management and process improvement. She has been a member of SRHR-A since December 2018. During that time, she has coordinated workshops based on Safe Abortion Advocacy and Root Cause Analysis for the team. Tiffany has a passion for empowering young people, especially women, in realizing their potential in sexual and reproductive health rights. Outside of the working world, she enjoys long walks, traveling and reading historical romance novels.

Nateica Garraway, Member

Nateica GarrawayNateica Garraway fondly known as ‘Sheri’ holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in General Biology from the University of Guyana, several certificates in Leadership training from esteemed programs such as the Kectil international leadership program, and Modules 1 & 2 of the Ministry of the Presidency Youth Leadership Training program, just to name a few. Her academics are balanced with skills training certificates as well, in the areas of cake decoration and beauty courses which to this day are used as an additional stream of income for this budding entrepreneur.
Ms. Garraway entered the world of volunteerism since 2014, and is currently an ardent sexual and reproductive health (SRH) advocate in her volunteer group SRHR Adventures, which has a special focus on family planning and contraception, and the Association of Young Africans which promotes development and empowerment of the African community. Due to her dedication to volunteerism, she has received some notable awards such as travel scholarships to make representation in India and Canada respectively, along with trophies and certificates.
This afro-centric feminist’s aspirations of being an author were made reality earlier this year by the release of a book she co-authored, titled’ Women Across Borders: Rising from the Ashes’ where she spoke of her journey of breaking illiteracy within her family, and started her blog page ‘Sheri’s Insights’ to share her thoughts on life.
Ms. Garraway’s interests are life coaching and entrepreneurship as she enjoys being involved in the positives that will not only develop self, but help others at the same time. Her love for reading is insatiable as it is being intuned with nature and self care.

Marlese Palmer, Member

Marlese PalmerMarlese Palmer is a humble, adventurous and creative young woman. She considers herself to be an ambivert who enjoys activities such as craft, decorating, reading, cooking, watching Asian dramas, traveling and all things outdoors.She is also a firm believer in the proverb by Confucius which states ” never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself.”
As a graduate of the University of Guyana Ms. Palmer holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. During her four years at the university she developed a passionate interest in International Relations as she had originally intended to study Law. In particular she focused on areas such as Foreign Policy, Global Political Economy, Public International Law and Diplomacy and International Negotiation. She however currently works in distribution as a member of a fast paced trading team.
Marlese became a member of SRHR Adventures in 2018 but her passion for volunteering stems from her drive to help others. Since joining she has been involved in projects such as the Parushi Club an empowerment club for young girls, as well as awareness initiatives surrounding Menstrual Hygiene, Women’s Health and HIV/AIDS. She is passionate about Humanitarian issues, Human Rights and championing Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. As a member of the group she hopes to empower others whilst raising awareness on SRHR issues within Guyana.

Deanna Walcott, Member

Deanna WalcottDeanna Walcott is a thoughtful, friendly individual. She is an Environment and Safety Officer with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies. Deanna is also a Toastmaster and she loves reading, swimming, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. She is passionate about raising awareness on the benefits of public speaking, sexual and reproductive health and rights issues, youth development, human rights and environmental issues. As a result of her passions she is an active volunteer in both Faith Base and Civil Society organizations. Deanna joined SRHR Adventures in 2018 but has been a supporter of the group for quite a while, she was dubbed “spiritual member” before finally committing as a physical member. Since becoming a member, she has been involved in activities such as Parushi Club, Pad Drive, Breastfeeding and Infertility Campaign. Deanna Walcott wishes to encourage everyone to play a role in highlighting SRHR issues, stamping out injustice and inequality and building a better world.

Reisa Roberts, Member

Reisa Roberts“For a short person, you are loud”- everyone. Reisa is short, fun and loud. She gets the work done and she gets heard. Reisa is a hard worker who pushes herself to the limits. She is an active fighter within women’s rights, human trafficking and human rights. She is determined, focused and without a doubt, the life of the party.
She is an upcoming Pharmacist, graduating from the University of Guyana in 2020. She is a Kectil graduate of 2018 and serves as the current chair of the Governance Committee of SRHR-A.

Rayon McGregor, Member

Rayon McGregor, MemberRayon McGregor is a young, honest, vibrant, assiduous, self-driven Guyanese with a determination to achieve local and global conservation objectives related to Protected Areas management. She is passionate about bringing science and practical conservation under one umbrella as an adaptive management tool and as a means to ensure best management practices for our Protected Areas. Her interest in conservation management has been strongly developed during four years of undergraduate studies in environmental studies and in her current role as a Research Officer at the Protected Areas Commission, Guyana’s agency responsible for the National Protected Areas System.
Outside of her work environment, she is passionate about giving back to her country through volunteerism and fostering youth development.

Shanon Toney, Member

Shanon ToneyA country girl from the county of Demerara. Shanon is compassionate, forgiving and free spirited.
For the past 13 years she worked in the Education field as a teacher where she gained professional qualifications from CPCE and earned honors as the best graduating biology student from the University of Guyana.
Her passions are still developing, however, she was inspired by someone close to her to pursue a degree in Education science at the University of Guyana – she is currently reading for such. Additionally, she is a member of the Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Adventures where she plans to touch lives and experience self growth.

Daneeka Marks, Member

Daneeka MarksAs a Chemist, Daneeka has considered herself to be the Woman that makes things happen in and out of the laboratory. They say it’s a man’s world, but the aspiring Chemical Engineer desires to one day change the lens through which the profession and field is
viewed and remind women that they are POWERFUL enough to become anything they desire to be.
Daneeka holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry with a Biology Minor (BSc) from the University of Guyana and outside of her lab coat and protective gears, has attained a wealth of knowledge in Secretarial Science, Agricultural Production and a passion for volunteering.
She served as the 3 rd Director for the Georgetown Stabroek Leo’s Club from 2015-2016 and currently serves as the Youth Leader for the Truth Power & Glory Foundation Feeding Programme and a member of the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Adventures (SRHR-A) and Girl Guides Association Guyana.
At age twenty-four (24), Daneeka stands as a business entrepreneur/owner of DC & Sons Poultry & Egg Production and to this day remains committed to embodying excellence and diligence while delivering the best version of who she is as a woman.

Towanda Clarke

As a former student of the Central High School I live my life by our school’s motto “cogito, ergo sum” (I think, therefore I am). Following my stint at the Central High I attended the St. Joseph High School sixth form programme for one year as I prepared for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations. Thereafter I was accepted into the University of Guyana to reads for a BSc. in Sociology. 

Today I am the holder of a BSc. in Sociology and a BSc. in Law from the University of Guyana. I am currently the Corporate Secretary at the sole public research institute (the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute) in the country.
