What the fertility! Navigating the ups and downs of another F word

Worldwide, men and women have struggled with fertility issues which can be related to low sperm count, decreased sperm motility, ovulation disorder, scarring or blockage of the Fallopian tubes, hormonal issues with the pituitary gland /thyroid glands, scarring from surgery and age. Hence, SRHR Adventures embarked on a project to raise awareness of infertility through social media awareness and an infertility awareness symposium.

As such the infertility awareness symposium which had an attendance of 38 persons inclusive of 6 males was executed so as to raise awareness via a panel discussion on infertility issues affecting females and males with evaluation methods while exploring factors that contributes to the knowledge, attitudes, behaviours and sociocultural conditions surrounding infertility and analyzing alternatives of becoming pregnant or a parent.

The panel consisted of :

Ø Ms. Gillian Trim- Nutritionist

Ø Ms. Rebecca Pluck- Adoption agent
